Free activities only available in December:
The "Deutsche Oper" in Charlottenburg (Bismarckstraße 35, U-Bhf "Deutsche Oper" U2) offers free events every day from Monday to Friday at 17.00h with their "Adventskalender". The shows are 20 minutes long and vary from music to talks if you click HERE you can check out the calender. On weekends are no shows but therefore you can win tickets for a variety of events.
Another free thing would be to visit the "Edvard Munch" open air exhibition at Potsdamer Platz.
I haven't checked it out myself - but definately going to. Edvard Munch btw was living in Berlin in the 1890's.
Yesterday, December 1st - I went to see how the Norwegian Christmas tree at Pariser Platz was turned on - after the famous Norwegian Singer Thomas Dybdahl was giving a mini concert which was very nice.
