In the museum shop I found this:
The book "Frederick" by Leo Lionni is one of the best books I've ever read and one of my favorite childhood books by far. Frederick is a mouse which doesn't seem to work as much as the other mice which are always collecting food for the winter. When the working mice ask him what he was up to he replies that he collects colors and sunrays, so the working mice think he is crazy. But then the winter comes and it's grey and boring for a long time the food is almost empty and the mice get depressed. But then Frederick comes with his stories about the sun and the colors in summer and the mice get happy and warm around their hearts....
I can recommend this book to everyone, it had a big impact on how I see the world today.
I haven't tried this but I think it is a superawesome gift idea:
Ready-made cookie mixes with funny Berlin names. It only works if you know a bit of German though - but then I am pretty sure people would love to get a mix to make some Plätz*chen der Republik! The cookie-mixes have a website which you can find HERE.
If you actually bring some time then you can sit down in the Kunsthalle Café/Shop and read through a lot of those very expensive but very pretty and interesting art magazines. They of course also sell them - but one of each is there to be looked at.
On the way home I passed the Checkpoint Charlie where they obviously have an open-air exhibition about the cold war for free at the moment:
Biking along Unter den Linden I saw some Greenpeace activists demonstrating for the release of 30 activists which are imprisoned in Russia for 47 days today. If you are interested in what happened you can click HERE to learn more.
Food:
Breakfast: I had one of the Brötchen which I bought yesterday with jam which I made this summer.
Lunch: The remaining Königsberger Klopse.
Dinner: I was lucky with dinner because my BF cooked for me, supergood btw! Macaroni with rucola and creme fraiche, some chicken and vegetables. Does that count? If someone invites me to eat over my budget?
Total costs today: 0,00€
